l98 cam and heads

Anybody ever had trouble tuning a MAP sensor car after replacing the cam and heads? i plan on using a cam simliar to the Lt1 hot cam and GMPP fast burn heads. i heard that the MAP sensor does not recognize increased airflow after mods like a MAF does.

Correct, you will need prom tuning to runthat combo efficiently. Start with a few searches. Tuning will require you to learn and buy a bit more also. I also think you Mean "LT4."

i have a tech 1. will adjusting the fuel pressure and watching the 02 signal be enough. i checked it and at WOT i could change it from rich to lean easily by adjusting the fp. its going to be hard for me to get a custom chip, especially after spending the money for the hypertec chip

Read the "banned topics thread" it is either at the top of the TPI board or prom board. It will tell you a lot more than I can write. Adjusting the fuel pressure as the only means of tuning is a no no. You will actually need to change your Volumetric efficiency, required fuel, pulse width, etc.
