Correct Regulator Assembly?
i ordered a new gm fuel pressure regulator to get the internals out for my AFPR.
there seems to be 4 main parts. the 'cap' a 'ring', the internal spring and diaphram and the block itself.
the 'ring' i am refering to is a round piece seperate from the housing or cap itself. it is the same diameter as the cap, it is round, and is raised on one side.
can someone tell me if the 'ring' is necessary on the AFPR and if so how it goes on? does the diaphram go between the ring and the cap or the ring and the block and which way does the raised part go?
i have looked for an exploded view but have been unable to fine one.
thanks

Hello Slohand,
Sorry. I didn't understand what you were referring to last night. I knew that you were getting a new AFPR for the car but I didn't realize that you had also bought a factory FPR. Those things aren't cheap, mine cost me $163.00 + tax (OUCH). If it was just the internals that you were looking for, you could have gotten that at AutoZone or Advanced Auto for about $20.00 + tax. Anyway, to answer your question. The cap goes over the diaphram and that ring goes over the cap with the curved side facing up. I don't know if you need the ring with the AFPR or not. Didn't they send you any instructions with the d*mned thing?
If they didn't, I would
on them. That's
. BTW, the torque on those little screws is 14 inch pounds. Here is that diagram.
