Some cam help

Well I am getting a 91 Z28 with a L98 with a bit over 148K miles on it this weekend and it will be sitting for about 3 months before I start driving it. After suspension upgrades, I plan on jumping into the engine. I have two options thought up so far, one being more towards saving money, the other towards performance. The first option is: porting and siamesing the plenum, runners, and intake. Porting and polishing the stock heads and cutting them for the H11 tool springs (good to .600" lift) and this cam

Is this a good option for a fairly stock engine, but would see up to about 5500rpm, maybe 6K, and be daily driven?

The second option would be to get some Pro Topline 200CC iron lightning heads, the HSR, and this is where I am stumped on the cam. What would be a good choice for this combo? The car will have 3.73's out back and a stall converter suited for the cam of course. If I go this route, I'd like it to spin to about 6500 easily, and have manners for daily driving. Would the stock bottom end be able to take something like that? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'd like to make some fairly decent power over stock...maybe 300 with the 1st option, closer to 350 to the wheels with the second. Thanks in advance.

come over to www.stealthram.com and look at the combinations some of the guys are running. My stock bottom end spins to 6500 with my hsr and lt4 hotcam. Many of the other guys do the same thing. My car is very streetable and gets pretty good gas milage.

i don't think the tpi would make power to 5500-6000 even if you did do all the porting to all the components. From what i've read and been told, it'll only make more power in it's current power range which is low end to 4500 rpm.

You need to decide on what you want to do with your car. If you want to run faster at the track then option 2 with the hsr is the way to go. If you want loads of tire spinning torque and the ability to race stop light to stop light then go with option 2 and the hogged out tpi setup. The cam you put the link to would be pretty suited to the hsr as it's powerband is 2500-6500. For the tpi you'd want a cam that has a powerband of 1000/1500-4500/5000.

Yeah, I have browsed through that site before and am pretty impressed with the results of the Stealth Ram. Would there be any way to get the SR to fit the heads on my car now? I was thinking, and you seem pretty right, so how about the HSR, the cam I mentioned, but with stock ported heads? Any way to accomplish this since I know the SR has the 86-previous bolt pattern. thanks for your suggestion though.
