SLP headers on! What times to expect?
Car is 91 5.7 auto, went 14.45 @96 w/ 2.23 60ft last year. Since then i have just added slp 1 3/4 headers and added straight pipes for convertors, new plugs (old ones looked terrible), msd wires, march pulleys, hypertech thermomaster(paid only 10 bucks for it so i threw it in), new cap & rotor, guted air box. Still have same tires so hopes of a good 60ft time prolly wont happen, but think i can get a 13.9??? Havent drove it yet cause its not all welded up yet so i dont know how it runs or sounds yet.

with a good launch and no spinning it should definitely run a 13.9 with those mods. icing the intake b4 the run is also good for about a tenth.

slp's
Slp's have shown to produce about 20 horse power at 4500 rpms on a slightly modded 350 probably something that you can barely feel but your times should show at least a 10th.
I have been racing these 3rd gens for way too long . A good rule of thumb for a stock motor when adding bolt ons is a .10th for every bolt on that you add.
try this and let us know.
14.45 stock
14.35 slp headers
14.25 converters
14.15 full tune up,wires ,cap, plugs
14.05 pulleys
13.90 chip
13.80 cold air intake <<< and hopefully your running a K&N air filter.
As torquey as the TPI set up is traction is going to be one of your biggest ET losses. So getting some soft rubber might help alot more possibly half a second in some instances.

I'll let you know what it does as i am going to the track on aug. 6th. Yes i am running a k&n and a flowmaster out back. Hope it sounds good and not like a truck does. Should get it welded up if i have time on tuesday or wensday. I seriously doubt it would run a 13.80 but i would love to see a 13.9x

Get some LCA relocation brackets and get those tires to stick. You will make up a lot of time if you can cut those 60's down.
Also, this is a very good mod, and it doesn't cost a lot.

i think you could see a couple tenths out of the stuff you have done, but you really need to address the traction issues so you can really put down some good numbers

Finally got it all welded up and running again. Old exhaust was all stock except for flowmaster 80 series, now i have slp headers no convertors and same muffler. At idle its really not much louder but u can tell a difference. When it gains RPM's is when u can tell a big difference, has a good tone except for around 1700 or so, sounds a lil raspy but besides that sounds great! Im still lookin for a deeper sound so i might try the flowmaster super 40 muffer and run a single turn down off it to keep it hidden. Havent drove it very much yet but i can tell a difference on the highway in power, down low seems bout the same. Track times to come friday night! Anyways should i try the super 40 muffler or keep my 80 series???

Not to argue, but a torque converter is one of the best mods for an L98 and if you can get traction is worth alot more than a tenth...A couple of 305 guys on here picked up a couple of tenths with headers I know a 350 would do as well....Bump your timing up a couple of degrees and add some fuel (even a stock L98 likes more fuel, and you have mods)and with good traction you have a mid 13 sec car there....clean up your plenum and get a nice cold air setup....14.4 with a 2.2 60ft is impressive..if you could get that down a little (you have drag radials?) you would have one hell of a runner...

No drag radials yet, but i want some Nitto's really bad...i just cant afford them yet. They will be next on the list. I agree a torque convertor will help alot, but future plans call for a built motor so i am going to wait till i find out what kind of motor i will build down the road.

YUP i need some drag radials..Car went a 14.14 @ almost 99mph. 60ft time was better with a 2.13 but i walked it out some then floored it. Rest of the night i tried just floorin it went i left but times only got worse. Seems like it pulls much harder off the line to half track. Also seems like it takes a lil long to shift into 3rd but all in all im happy knowing that with drag radials i can get my 13.9 in lookin for...i think?? Still picked up over .3 and well over 2 mph.
Well you picked up a solid 30 crank hp or so with those mods...
Not bad just work on that launch....you have the pwoer to run a 13.6/13.7 ....just need the traction..and like I said bump your fuel up a bit and timing ..together you should get a couple of tenths.

Yea i plan on bumping up the timing. Also thinking about a stealthram since i really need to change my intake gaskets i was thinking about just buying a new intake while my stock one is off. I need to do more research though about a mild modded car with a stealthram to see if its even worth it or not. I dont know what i want yet its just the price of the stealthram seems like a good deal. I have decided on getting the super 40 muffer and i will order it in a week or so.

congrats on the time you got man
I am hopeing for a 13.8 with mine now . These TPI's really take a steady foot to launch right . REallllllly touchy . The SR will make life easier in the launch .....it makes most of its power up top ...were the TPI is just off idle .....which makes it a biotch to nail off the line .
good luck to ya man

I ran a 13.8@99.98 before I put those headers on, haven't been back to the track with it, but I expect at least a tenth or 2 with a couple more mph's
