Help save the love!!!
Help save the love!!!
I really need help on this one. Okay first I will start with the history. I had a stock 305 and swapped to a 355 with world heads, tpis zz9 cam, roller rocker system, rebuilt tranny and SLP 1-3/4 headers. The shop swapped things out and the car did run on my stock 305 chip. I tinkered with this set-up putting in the stock 350 chip. Things still ran alright - a little chucky, but I could live with that until I learned the proper ins and outs of programming. Then the car died while driving. I figured maybe a injector or something. I knew I would be replacing them and put in SVO 24# injectors and cleaned out the plenum and runner really well. That set-up didn't work well at all. I went ahead and ordered the Prominator knowing that this would help me to get my butt into programming. I was hoping to use the ARAP stock bin with my MAF setup to get the car somewhat driveable and fine tune it afterward, however it runs so bad. I have gone over the entire set-up again. I scanned the TPS setting and IAC has been reset. The EGR and PCV have been replaced and I didn't figure a vacuum leak would cause what I am experiencing. The fuel pressure was low at 40 psi and then bumped gradually to 53 psi. It runs a little better, however it is very sluggish when I tromp on the gas. I figure a set-up like this sholud have my head in the rear glass. I feels very strong. I am a little concerned about the revving of the motor. It revs up alright, but the revs hold longer than I figured it should when I let off the gas. Not sure if this is a rich condition or something else.
Sorry this is so long winded, but I am at my whits end. I am acually to the point of thinking about going carburated, but that is a shame since I really love my TPI car. If there are any shops in the Niagara (canada) area that members can suggest I would be up to going there for assistance.
Any help the board can offer is appreciated.
