miniram and cam

I am considering changing cams from the zz9 to a comp cam that has 230/236 duration and 510/520 lift with 112 sep. I was wondering if this would be a good choice considering the motor that I am currently running. I am pretty sure that I will need more gear considering that I have 3:23 now but I am going to change to 3:73 in the future.

I ran the Comp 230/236 HR cam in my 383. The car ran well but be prepared for peak HP somewhere above 6500 rpm.

how will this cam work with the vette heads? the only thing that is done to them is the valve spring to handle the lift of the zz9 camshaft. I know that these heads are not optimized for the miniram and comp cam but will they work ok or do i need to wait until i have the $$$$ for the heads to put this cam in?

thanks

That cam will love that intake... but like said, depending on your LSA and ICL you get it put on... normal is probaly a 112 LSA and a 108 ICL, you can expect it to make peak power anywhere from 6200-6500 rpm... depending on head flow, exhaust etc...

If you do some major porting work, i heard those heads can flow pretty well. Make sure you pick high quality valve train components cuz theyre gonna be doin some work if you have to rev past 6500. You might have to get a rev kit (controversial statement).
