best upgraded fuel pump

What would be a good choice for a new fuel pump for my 86 TA with a 350ci. It need to be good for about 400-450 hp
(This is not needed yet but I like the buy once buy right)

Also what is the stock pump good to HP wise?

Thanks

A new Walbro tank would work. They are more of a high volume pump. The stock pump is not rated at horsepower really. You start to lose out because of fuel pressures and not getting enough gas to the rails. Walbro makes Holley's pumps also. They are usually between $120-150 in tank. Carefull not to damage the sending unit when you are pulling the whole unit from the tank.

Bought a new one for a 1989 Turbo Trans-Am 3.8L. It flows more than a v8 tpi pump, and cost about $65 at Napa.

Not bad. Do you have flow numbers for that pump? I've also read in a few mags about using a 90s model Vortech truck pump. Can anyone shed some light on this?

http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com/ Nuff said, Hard to beat their prices and service for a good Hi Perf. pump. They also give all the hot poop on all their pumps

I went in to Autozone and looked through their fuel pump book, came out with a stock pump for a newer model truck (CK1500 maybe, dont remember exactly) but when comparing it to the stock TPI pump it flowed about 75% more and put out something like 90 psi compared to the stock 65 or so. It's been a while like I said, but it would be a great, cheap(er than walbro) upgrade. Lifetime warranty too.

Check out this kit. It uses a walbro pump:
