Going from TBI to TPI, help!!!

I have a 305 TBI that just blew a head gasket and i really don't see the point in fixing it since I plan on going bigger anyway so my question is how hard would it be to put a TPI setup on a crate 350 H.O.? I know the TPI conversion rerally isn't that hard but putting it on an engine that's set up for a carburater kind of confuses me. If anyone has any info for me please let me know. Thanks.

It's really not that hard........biggest thing is it is very time consuming. IMO the hardest thing actually was changing the fuel pump over, that was about a 5 hour job w/ a bay lift. Best advise i can give you is find a donor car with the TPI the same year or as close to the year of your car that you can. I was always having to go back for parts (relays, wiring components,cables...etc...) That way it helps keeps the cost down from going to the dealership buying new parts. Get a book on TPI swaps, sumitt sells a few that really helped me out alot and read up on it,plus this site has a mountain of info on it that helped a ton too. I think i probably spent a total of 40 to 50 hours in total doing the swap (mind you i am not Mr. Goodwrench). Luckily not by design i took my set up off of a car that was close in age to my car so i didn't end up with alot of wiring issues. I guess the 3 most valuable words of advise i can really give you is..1)patience 2)patience and 3)patience.

Thanks, I figured it was extremely time consuming so I know what I'm getting myself into. I'm not at all worried about the fuel pump or anything like that (I've done quite a few fuel pumps on F bodies). The main part I'm worried about is finding a good crate 350 to put the TPI on. I don't have the money for an aftermarket setup especially on top of having to buy a new engine so price is also an issue.

What are you looking to spend on the engine? What kinda price are looking at for the TPI set up?

I don't really have any set prices. I'm just looking to do this as cheap as possible without losing any performance. I can get the TPI setup easilly, I'm just looking for a crate engine it'll bolt up to. I'm not sure what all would need to be changed.
