question about stock block

How much horsepower can the stock 350 TPI engine block support? I am looking to compete in SCCA racing and was just wondering cause I saw that SDPC offers a crate motor 350 TPI that puts out 375hp and 410lbs./ft of torque

Are you speaking of the block specifically, or the components within?

Splay the main caps and have it checked professionally and it should be good to atleast 800HP IMO with a balanced & forged bottom end....

For most typical street builds, the factory setup will be sufficient whether that be 2 or 4 bolt mains. Obviously, you could splay the 2 bolts and use the steel caps for strength, however, in many cases, its a bit overkill (where 4 bolt mains will be sufficient). I would be worried about the rod bolts before the main cap bolts.

How much power are you looking to put out?
