Injectors won't fire
I just finished all the wiring on my 85 5.0 tpi/87tpi ecm and harness, thanks Trickster. But I can't seem to get the injectors to fire. I have power to them but when I hook up my "noid" light and crank it over I get no flashing light. Any help would be great, this thing has almost worn me out!!

When you try and start it does it spit and pop and are the plugs wet with gas?
I would check to make sure you have high impedance injectors, my first setup burned up the ECM injector Driver because I was sold low impedance injectors.. same result, steady noid light when cranking, put your digital multimeter on the injector terminals (not the harness) and read the ohms, your looking for 12-14 for high and 2-3 for low. If they are low then you probably fried the injector driver and will need to pick up a new ecm, the PROM will be okay.

When I try to start it it sounds like it is going to run for a second but then it won't, plugs are still dry, just checked them before I tried it yesterday. I do have the High impedance inj.'s, checked that too, but you said steady noid light while cranking, I get no noid light. Only power to each term on the inj.

When this happened to me, it was the electronic module in the distributor. Took me about two weeks to figure that one out.

Are you using Accel injectors? If you are, that's the problem. If not I would still say it's a bad injector. The bad injector is knocking out the injector driver in the computer.

If you have 16 OHM's across all eight injectors they are okay. The only way you would have a problem with the injector itself right now would be if they were old injectors that had not had any gas through them in awhile. Then they could be gummed up and the pintles could be stuck closed. Since you are not getting a pulse from the noid light that does not seem to be the case here.

Well that answers that ? I just asked you on the electronics board. Thanks Trick, I guess I'll go ahead and get a new ecm and if that doesn't work then I'm sure youll hear from real soon.
