ZZ4 TPI Intake options?
Just got my new ZZ4 and was wondering if the Scoggins Dickey baseplate is my only TPI mounting option with the Vortech heads?
Are there any other options like a mini-ram that would easily work?

Sorry, don't know wtf I was thinking...
of course the heads are not vortech, but I have been told I should consider an aftermarket intake for the egr setup and/or additional power.
I had considered larger runners as well but then thought if I'm going to spend the coin anyways why not go to a miniram or stealthram setup.
What problems am I likely to encounter, will any of these options clear my strut tower brace and my stock hood?, what about my prom?

I know the Stealth Ram won't clear your strut tower brace. The Mini Ram should clear with no problems. The problem with the Mini Ram is the price. Do you have emission testing where your at? Cause neither of those intakes have egr provision. You should get a custom prom to get the full potential of the engine.

Yes we do have emissions laws here, is there a setup anybody
would suggest that will give me both improved breathing and have egr provisions?
Parts numbers?
Thanks

If you don't have a visual inspection then you could probably get away with using the Mini Ram or Stealth Ram. I have the Stealth Ram(not intalled yet) and my state has emissions but no visual so as long as I pass the sniffer I'll be all set. On my old 84 Firebird I passed the sniffer with no cat, air pump, or egr that was the computer controlled carb though.
If you wanna stay 100% legal you could go with the Accel Super Ram and Accel Base. Or go with the aftermarket TPI route but you'll lack higher rpm hp.

I think you can use an external EGR set-up on the MiniRam or the stealth ram.
....The Accel or Edelbrock base have provisions, and you can use the Superram as Frank mentioned. Very cool looking.
BBK is coming out with something new for our cars too. Should be in a few months I'd guess. We'll have to wait and see.

I have a ZZ4, Accel TPI base, and stock TPI runners. I really don’t like it, the runners have to go. It is so slow at mid to upper RPM's and down low it does is roast the tires. After 3000 RPM’s it has no go. If you are going to put TPI on it you really need a good set of runners.

I am running a ZZ4 cam with TPI . That cam is for up to 5500 rpm's . I have had my Edlebrock unit worked on . The runners have been siamesed in'4" to help bring the upper limmit of TPI . I have an it down the dtrip twice untuned ...... and it pulls alot better than it did before ! If you are getting an aftermarket base ...and runners .....make sure they are simesable ....or I dont see them really raising the chokeing point of the TPI up too much . click on my www. and go to page 2 to see what my ported runner look like....cardomain wont let me link anything lately for some wierd reason.
