Um help what is this?
Ok I was thinking of porting my plenum so i took the upper off and the lower intake where the runners are connected to has the Accel logo on it.
Is that normal? If it is an aftermarket intake is there anyway to tell what one it is so i can get the upper that matches.
1991 Camaro Z28 TPI 350 Speed density.
I sure a pic would help but it's all back together now but i did get this one pic thru the tubes.

So the intake base is made by accel? Congrats, you've probably got a $300-$400 bolt-on right there worth a solid 15hp across the powerband. Ripe for porting and the rest of the goodies.

Yea, gotta love when you find a $20 bill in an old pair of pants. Lucky you. It looks like the Accel emblem is right where it is supposed to be.

hey iceman in that pic you have is that your intake, cause i am trying to figure out if that is the lower base to the accel super ram for a sb TPI 350.
If i already own the lower i'll add the upper, how many accel intakes are there for a TPI?

I didn't think it was the same as the superram base, but I did do a little googling and came up with this.
"TPI Intake Manifold
Small block super ram manifold base increases manifold port volume and recontours port shape for increased inlet air flow while maintaining high flow velocity, providing maximum charge density. It will accept OEM TPI runners or Accel high flow TPI runners or Accel SuperRam Plenum/Runners Kit."
This came from here and does appear to accept the superram upper plenum/runners.

Here is the pic they have with it, and it appears to be the one that we have.

Sweet then instead of porting my upper i'll just add the super ram upper and runners to it.
Thanks for the help, if you have a phone number for the accel company laying around i wouldn't mind calling them just to make sure

you might want to consider maybe pulling that intake off and checking to see if you can do any extra porting.
My Edlebrock manifold ports needed extra porting when I got it out of the box. The ports were the same size as the gasket size of the factory runners. I had the Accel LTRs and had to hog out the Edlebrock ports to match.

The next thing that you need to do is get some runners and port the plenum to match. Congrats!!!

Yep, BADASS91B4C hit it right on the nose. There is only one Accell TPI base.

I wish I had a TPI aftermarket base. My setup would haul *** with those and a good set of aftermaket heads. I have everything else. lol.
Still, my ported stock base does the job with everything else. When you have to go cheap, porting what you have by yourself is the best way.
