Pinion angle is set to -2.

I've talked to Edge, but since I have a new motor in the works, I'm just going to wait until then to get a converter built.

Yeah, if you have a new motor in the works then waiting is a good idea on a torque converter. Thanks for the reply on the pinion angle. By the way you may be close to hitting the wall on your present combo. I guess if the stars and moon were all aligned correctly you might see a better time. You have done quite well with your present combo. Allen

I've been away from here for a while, but the seasons over now and the best I could pull out of this was a 13.11 at 103.99, with a 1.79 60'. I put a set of Weld pro-stars on the car with M/T E.T. drags, 10*15 out back and skinnies up front.

Couple questions from a new IROC-Z owner. I am looking to put a Stall in the car next spring and was wondering what was recomended by all you guys who have had these cars for awhile....

1987 IROC-Z
TPI 5.7
60 over
Cam (9.5 to 1 comp.)
Ohio Pistins rings...etc...
Adj. Fuel pres. Reg.
Shift Kit.
Hypertech chip that Has been burned to modify further....

I am seeing that there is some cheap modification that can be done wth the intake and am getting some great pointers. Love this site and will continue to learn from you guys....

Other question that I have is that, this is my first winter with this car and is getting stored. Never seen snow/salt... and want to keep it this rust free!!!

I put a full tank in the car with a pint of sea foam and put it in the 10x20 storage stall with a car cover. Any other pointers that you guys could help me out with... Do I start the car once a week? Not start it at all during storage? Any information that you can give me would be awesome...... Thanks in advance!!!

That's really impressive, hats off to you!

There's a guy down here in the Houston area whom is also a member of TGO who recently went 13.20's with the stock long-block but with following mods:

super-ram
3:73's
Turbo 350 trans
and I tuned the PROM

other than that, the car is bone stock!

It's even a firebird, so it has that restrictive air intake still on it!

The weather is alot warmer down here though and much more humid.

What are your plans for the new motor?

Car: projects.......
great times! - some people... My car w/ nothing but a JCWhitney cat-back ran 14.70 - mph was like 91/92 ish. - Mines a vert w/ a BIG stereo system. She's sitting large @ 4161lbs w/ me(170) and 1/2 tank. I now wish I had kept w/ my TPI for a while just to be able to post something to 2nd your claim. I was cutting consistent 1.88-1.90 60's on stock wheels/off brand 245/50/16's w/ a stock suspension(partially due to heavy stereo in trunk...) currently I've seen a best of 1.66 60', w/ consistent 1.68-1.72's. It's do-able w/ the right combination/driving. I launch over 4500 r's. I bring it to 4500, when the last yellow comes on I stand on it and side-step the clutch. - Everyone wants to contradict off-average numbers. Different combinations work differently. I run 11.7 @ a ridicous 136 mph? people say not possible w/ the 60fts I claim. I say have you run at Orlando? on a street night? hooks hard to 60', but hold on after that! my 330's are horrid, but my little 355 is pushing a tad over 500hp, and it mileanhours hard. I've got friends who've seen it. -

also, to those who did, don't knock the little 4.6's. A buddy of mine is running a 02 GT all motor, not stroked running 12.30's. It's a full weight GT w/ 2 valve heads, not four. laid down over 330hp and over 300ftlbs to the wheels...

edit: I checked my time slips. the 11.72 was @ 128. The passes over 130mph were between 12.0-12.2 w/ wheel spin 2nd&3rd
