Idling irratically

My car idles kinda irratically. Not too bad but enough to drive me nuts. I can't figure out what it is. The car idles around 900 and then slowly climbs to about 1200 over a time of like 3 secs. then drops abruptly back to 900 and it does this repeatedly. What could cause this? IAC and TPS have been replaced and adjusted. I keep getting a code 22 i think. not sure how to test the wires though to see if they have a good connection.

Scan for codes again just to be sure of what you have.

A slight variation in the TPS signal due to a poor source connection or "wandering" ground reference can cause your symptoms, along with other problems.

Did you reinstall the plenum and runners itself and with new gaskets as you asked on another thread because if there was no irradic before removing anything and now after if you reinstalled the upperintake my guess would be an intake runner gasket leak. This happened to me but the leak was more agressive. A tell tale sign of a compression leak does the rpm's smooth out with accelerating the car if so you then know, no matter how much you readjust your tps or reset minimum air the ecm will try to compensate at idle with opening up the iac to flow more air at idle. Hope this helps.

This was before i pulled the plenum, I am currently reinstalling the plenum and runners with new gaskets. So hopefully that solves the problem. I also checked the EGR valve bolts and one was not completly tightened. Hopefully once everything is back together it will run smooth.

Are you putting the stock runners and plenum back on? I'll tell ya after I put the new gaskets on the second time with the new runners and plenum I could not adjust to the fact this car ran so smooth.

Yes I am polishing and porting them then reinstalling with new gaskets? should I use any sealant or just the gaskets?

True,

Just the gaskets, ma'am...

After you port match the runners, check for gasket interference. I've had to trim both the stock and FelPro gaskets to prevent creating a gasket obstruction at these joints. It seems that both sets are slightly undersized. I haven't checked Victor gaskets to see if they suffer the same problems, but it's worth checking before you assemble them. I used a punch to open the gaskets to clear.

It's funny that you sat that... I bought the victor gaskets and they are a near perfect fit. No trimming needed.
