A list of mods would be nice, but i'd say not much of a change at all.

I've read that the 48mm will flow enough air to feed around 350 HP-400hp. Now of course that just an real rough ballpark, but I doubt you're anywhere near that with bolt ons.

I've also heard several people with stock or close to stock motors losing a very slight bit of torque by going to a 52. I'd imagine with a lot of bolt-ons, you'd probably not LOSE anything.

If you found a good deal on one, i say go for it, but I doubt you'd really see a big difference.

It won't make a damn bit of difference. Save your $300.

thanks for the feedback guys but im gonna buy it anyway because my old tb looks like crap and it has broken screw holes for the tps so i may as well get it but i did think it would help a little. plus im building a engine for next year.

Headers 1 5/8"
3" flows with 3" tips (no cat)
unerdrive pulley 3 piece
air foil
ported plenum
home made cold air intake/W K&N filter
accel coil and wires,cap,rotor
paltinum plugs
lower temp thermo
lower temp fan switch
AFPR
timing set @10*
B&M shift lit
corvette servo
TB coolant bypass

probably more just cant remember.

what about with a supercharger, would that reap the benefits of a larger TB?

There are people selling "ported" (to 52mm) stock throttle body castings on Ebay sometimes...and they usually go for less than half the cost of the aftermarket ones. Might be worth looking at.

GTA matt i dont mean to be a wise guy but if the 52mm tb doesnt do anything why do you have one? and the plenum is allready 52mm so it makes sense to me that a TB in front of it should be 52mm not 48mm it has to help also on mustang they allways change the TB and claim so very good gains especialy if you have headers and exhaust.

I got the 52 because everyone was praising it. BBK states it adds power, etc. I did research on it, i even posted a thread asking about it. Never really got a straight answer so I decided to buy it and try it for myself.

MPH at the track-the real teller of HP never changed. All i'm saying is that for $300 there are better things that can be done. Maybe with heads and cam it would make a difference, but not with the mods this guy has listed. He asked for opinions, I gave mine.

I'm not bustin anybodies chops, sorry to come off that way.

I have the thread in TPI about "stock heads, stock cam, stock intake, 13.15"

Over the winter, I added 3.73's, spohn torque arm, drag radials, accel 300+ spark box and coil, and TB. I picked up 2 tenths mainly due to the gears. MPH stayed the same, unless you count .7 as a gain, and its been 103 on some passes last year.

heres timeslips from last year to this year

the 13.15 was spinning a little and launching soft. just got done ordering control arm relocation brackets and 90/10 struts, maybe knock another 10th off with a hard launch.

for $300, you could get 1.6 rockers, though the results for them are negligable as well. the one single item that i actually picked up alot with was underdrive pulleys. they knocked .15 off under identical weather conditions and cost about 150(aluminum 3 piece march) after that stuff, everything is gonna cost more than $300.

Alot of people swear by SLP runners too, but i have no personal experience with them so maybe some one who does can chime in?????

Have somebody to burn a chip that will match your bolt ons. The stock chip is already rich from the factory. If you can lean the chip some it will run faster. By pass water going through the throttle body and modify the air intake. The 52mm TB will work if you change the runners, manifold, modify the MAF Sensor (no screens and cut down the fins) and port the plenum.

look at the top of the post i allready have underdrive pulleys dint really feel a difference.

i allready have no screens, cold air intake ,ported plenum, air foil, the only thing i dont have is the runners and the TB coolant is bypassed.

Looks like somebody did not read the stickies at the top of the page. I believe this is in the list of banned topics.
But for your reading pleasure once again.
