Smooth Throttle Response

My throttle response is not too smooth.
It is like there is no response mid throttle while driving.
Just easing into the gas, there is no response or change in rpm.
Until you get to near full throttle and it suddenly pulls.
Easing on and off the gas in the mid-throttle range bring no response.
I suspected the tps, replaced it, and no change.
Any ideas?

how does the car idle? just throwing an idea out there.. but it might be your injectors/fuel rail. you might also want to check your timing..

fireball,
does the car have EGR ? , if so, pull the
hose off, and tell the forum what happens.

Car idles fine.
WOT seems fine.
Just in the middle it sporadically builds power.
(hard to put into words what it is doing)
Have not thought of egr.
It still has it. Nothing has been removed or bypassed.
Just cruising and ease into the throttle alittle, it does not respond.
Keep easing into it, and at a certain point near wot, it jumps.
Suddenly responding to the gradual increase in throttle.
That is what made me suspicious of the tps.

given all the things you just said, this could possibly be your transmission..

Sounds like a faulty TPS Sensor (throttle position). If you have a "digital" voltmeter handy, with the ignition on and engine NOT running, put the voltmeter leads between the blue and black wires (If I remember correctly) of the 3 wire connector, and slowly open the throttle. It should show a real smooth transition increase in voltage, if operating correctly. Also, your "base" reading should be somewhere in the .54v-.59v range. (this is why you really need a digital meter) Hope this helps...
