What will happen if there is a vacuum leak?

I found a vacuum hose that had been burnt through pretty good. What signs will occure due to a bad vacuum line with a gaping hole? My car sounds like there is a cylinder missing or something and a little less power the rpms down low.

Depends on the size of the leak......if it's big enough, you can actually burn up a motor....valves, seats and pistons.

You said yours was a hose...was it a little plastic hose or a big rubber one?

Was it running that way after you fixed the leak?

Have not fixed the leak yet. Where do you get those little rubber vaccum hoses?
