What is this????
There is a wire that is disconnected on my car, I dont have a pic but I will describe it the best I can. It is a black wire with a single piece of metal kinda in the shape of a needle at the end. there is a piece of green rubber where the wire connects to the piece of metal. It is on the passengers side of the below the exhaust manifold. I am having spark knock and I believe this wire being disconnected may be the cause. If anyone could help me with this Id greatly appreciate it. Thanks alot.

I wonder if it is the knock sensor, which would explain the issue of your car having some spark knock. Do you see where the wire goes? You might try hooking it back up and see what happens.

there are 2 sensors on the block on that side of the motor.
1 knock ssensor, 2 fan switch. one is most likely unplugged check and see. not to be a antogonist but you are positive the knock sensor is plugged in?

Knock sensor is just above the oil pan, screwed into the drain hole, in about the middle of the block.
Fan Switch is in the head between cylinders 6 and 8.
Check both. They used a crappy "squeeze" connector that inevitably gets brittle, and breaks. Not sure what GM was thinkin' there.

yup i saw that thing between the plugs however this wire will not fit into that, also my fans are set to run whenever the ignition is on so i dont think a fan switch would be needed.
