Very Weird Fuel Pressure Problem...wanna take it on?
Okay
I have a fuel pressure gauge mounted in the engine compartment. Sometimes, I go out to start my car...and it won't start. I look at the gauge and it reads "0". In order to get the car running...I have the take the fuel pressure pump fuse out..and I have to start tapping the fuse to the fuse holder. It's like I have to kind of jump it by tapping the fuse to the fuse holder. Anyhow..I keep tapping it..and the fuel pressure goes right up to 40 psi and it starts fine. How weird is this? Does anyone know what it can be? Any idea's or information about this problem would be appreciated. Thanks

Most anywhere. It comes with about 6" of wire on each lead. if you have a multimeter or any type of continuity tester i would put the fuse in it and check for continuity. Good Luck

Kat, didn't you know corrosion was self-evident everytime, all the time? Sheesh! You'd think it was some sort of chemical reaction the way you talk...
Try this next time. Before playing with the fuse, apply 12v to the 'G' terminal of the aldl and see if you then get pressure.

well guys....I'm still having the problem. I would think if the fuel pump was the problem...it would have went out by now....but the car starts and will run...and then sometimes..it won't. I have to keep taking the fuse in and out...until I get pressure. I do notice a clicking noise, over by the brake booster. There are 3 like boxes with alot of wires running to them. Is it possible that one of them is bad? (the one that goes to the fuel pump) What are they? Some kind of relay?

Yes. Bingo. One of the 3 is your FP Relay. Cant remember which though. Someone else will chime in. If not ill find it. Try to swap them around.
