Does anyone know the answer?

Here is my situation.

For roughly the same money I can go vortec heads/GMPP TBI intake/bigger TB.
Or TPI/stock heads and bigger TB.

This is a stock 1995 5.7 truck engine with long tube headers, single 3" exhaust. I know it's not an F-Body but I use to have one and need some help with this project.

Which would be the better way to go. I understand I'm gonna have to burn a custom chip, up the fuel system and with the TPI install a wiring harness.

Well, what are you going to use the car for? Daily driver?

If so, then I would think the TPI setup would be a better choice due to its bottom and midrange torque. As far as the bigger TB, it will not help you at all, so save your money. The stock 48mm throttle body outflows your manifold. Its not a restriction until you get into the 12 second bracket.

If the stock heads you are referring to are the ones that came on the 95 engine, DON'T USE THEM. They are garabage due to the stupid swirl port design. They are just about the worst flowing head you can pick. Pretty much any other head will be an improvement.

If I were you, I would pick up a set of L98 or LB9 heads (a little extra work will be needed for the LB9 heads), do some mild port work, and pick up a mild cam. You'll be happy you did.
