maual fan switch
someone i know just picked up a 87 305 iroc, and its running a bit on the hot side while sitting in traffic and what not, i know its not all the out of the ordinary since my iroc does it sometimes, around 220 mark. anyways i told him he should wire up a fan switch, anyone have a good write up i could give him? something step by step would be awsome, i suck at givin instructions

You didn't ask for alternatives, but if the fan(s) when they do come on, keep the car cool, don't worry about it. GM says 220* is normal, I'm not going to argue with them.
If the fans can't manage to keep the temps where they are supposed to be, there is something else wrong and a fan switch is just a (poor) bandaid.
No offense intended, just that "fixing" something that isn't broken invariably causes more problems at some point.
