Name That Sensor
theres like a half inch taping in the side of my driver side head, the heads were taken off, so they might've got switched up...but anyways, the hole is on the drivers side, maybe there is one on the pass. side too, but I believe a sensor goes in there...anybdoy know what its called? I think its the coolant temp sensor, but i'm not sure...cuz i'm missing it, so i gotta go buy a new one tomorrow, i just want to know the name of it so I get the right one..also if ya know what kind of plug it has on it too that'd be great....cuz i have a spaded plug left on that side, and i'm guessing its for that...

Both heads should be the same...if you put the head on the driver side, the hole is between #1 and #3 and is used for the temp gauge.
If on the pass side, head is reversed and the hole is between #6 and #8 and used for the secondary fanswitch.
The CTS goes in the front of the intake.

alright ladies and gentleman...round two...we got a sensor from the front of the intake, its the bigger one of the two that taps into the intake...I think its the coolant temp sensor...but check out the pics...there was another sensor just like it that tapped vertically into the driver side of the intake, but it was a bit smaller, and I got that to fit...but this one is too small for the 1/2" hole on the new HSR intake...what should I do??

thats the cold start injector switch. it tells the ecm when to put in extra fuel on startup via the CSI. however, since you now have a stealthram, you no longer have a cold start injector. get a plug for the hole in the intake.

I know sometimes a stupid question has to be asked to learn. Although I have enormous amounts of experiance with non computer cars, I am still learning (and there is lots to learn) about computer cars. Even though I am on my second 89 IROC (first one, stolen out of my driveway a few years ago), I try to read at least three or posts everyday about TPI cars to become more familar with how everything works. Sometimes the hardest thing is figuring out what a particular abbreviation means. In this case, I know what a CTS does, how it operates, etc, etc, have even replaced mine in the miniram intake, but was not sure what CTS Was.
Thanks again!
