Another TBI to TPI swap question...
Hey everyone,
Before anyone says anything, I already did a search. But I didnt find an answer to my question. I just picked up a MAF TPI setup for my car. I read the tech article on the swap and it doesnt sound too hard. My question is, will I have a problem getting the car to run right with the stock L03 heads & cam? Within a year or so I am planning on getting a 350 block with vortec heads & a LT4 Hot Cam. (I know I will have to tune then!) Anyway, I also have a pair of non-swirl port heads laying around that I can use. They are from a 70's truck. So they are not the best, but they are probably better than the swirl ports. Should I bolt those on for the meantime or should I stick with the swirl ports.
Thanks in Advance,
Mark B

It will run fine just be sure to get 19 pound injectors. You might want to look into getting the injectors rebuilt if they are the original ones though.
If the truck heads are from a 350 I believe they are going to have a higher chamber cc. That is going to lower your compression ratio and may negate any gains you'd otherwise achieve installing them on your 305. Also your smaller bore may not have enough clearance for the larger valves. I'd change the cam instead, but hey I'm no expert. Better get a few more opinions.
