I was hoping maybe someone has some simillar mods and maybe had their car dynod to know the hp gains
I have the 88 305 TPI AUTO and did the following:
- Edelbrock TES Headers and y pipe
- Hooker 3" cat back (The cat i believe is original)
- Edelbrock High flo TPI intake base plate
- SLP Runners
I didnt change cam though
In the future maybe.
Thanks,
Sam

I did not say anything about his parts. Any large intake component on a 305 does little to nothing for a power increase. I have been there, and done that many years ago.
If the poster should decide to upgrade to a 350 in the future, he will have a nice induction system to install on it. (SLP runners, and Edelbrock base).

BTW, I saw your red Camaro on another post, Its a nice car.
I would recommend getting all the free stuff you can, then start with inexpensive parts.
You can take your air cleaner baffles out, and stuff like that. Maybe install an AFPR.
Right off the bat, you will benefit from an eprom tune with the cam change. What are your cam specs?

what are the air baffles? im getting the SLP cold air intake...
i have the small cam, 205hp. This will be a moderate daily driver (about 40 miles a week) and i need to keep my gas milage. I will keep that cam forever. Im not trying to build this as a fast gas guzzling car, i just want it to faster than some of the imports out there. What EFPR would you recommend? I am thinking of just doing headers and vortech heads + intake as my primary mods (besides 3 inch flowmaster and SLP CAI). I was also thinking of putting on the Holley super ram way down the road when i can afford it.

Under your dual filters. There are baffles under them, that allow about 1/2 of the air in. They are mainly used for noise, and keeping water out. I have not heard of any water issues though. My brothers old TPI IROC picked up a tenth and a half by eliminating them.
Sounds like you are on the right track though. My 305 ran consistant low 14s back in the early 90s. With stock, unported heads. Dipped in the 13s once, at a Island Dragway, in N.J.
Fuel pressure is a trail and error deal. No perfect # for everyones car.
BTW, Holley makes the StealthRam, not the SuperRam. Accell makes the S/R.

With the peanut cam, I wouldn't be suprised if you hurt the car more than you helped it with the intake mods. Sure, the exhaust is nice, but I'd consider replcing those intake parts, if nothing else, for standard style intake runners at least.
The L98 cam'ed car might have been a different story, but that cam simply doesn't produce over about 4,000 RPM or so.

Vortec heads will help you, don't get me wrong, but maybe only 15 or 20 HP with that tiny cam. Just do a cam swap and make it easy on yourself. If you got a cam around the 214-216 intake, 218-220 exhaust with .480 lift on both sides, and 112 LSA you would be a much happier man. *Be aware you have a roller cam, before you go out and buy a cam.* I only say that because you didn't match the intake and heads and wouldn't want to see you **** away even more money.
If you *Have* to keep the stock cam, might as well put on the vortec's, sell the edelbrock base, buy the right TPI intake, and hope for the best. I still think ditching the SLP's for standard style, large aftermarket LTR's would be the way to go either way. AS&M seems to be the way to go.
Well the car does feel better
sure does want to rev further.
I decided no more taking apart just adding stuff and by that i mean supercharge is the next step. Besides that would have probably been the cheapest and best power gain from the start.

the gains are from the exhaust mods only. Probably around 20 to 30 more ponies.
