bottom end(350TPI)

I'm wondering since i'm gonna be replacing the heads and intake manifold if my bottom end needs rebuilding. bottom end has 109k on it. so far the compression is still decent and consistant. what else should i look for to tell me weather i should rebuild the bottom end or i'll be ok for a while not doing so?

Consider:
Oil pressure. History of overheating. Condition of piston tops when heads are off. Condition of spark plugs. Intended power range and compression ratio after new heads.

If you're gonna have the heads and intake off, do the cam, timing chain set, and damper, and pushrods (re-use the roller lifters if you want), and get some decent roller rockers.

I'm in the same boat as you. Similar mileage, already have all the parts. Just need some time in the states to get'r done, but now thinking about getting a 383 shortblock built for me, since the dough is rolling in over here, and then swapping in the fully built motor rather than breaking my back over the fenders.
