Assuming you're not trolling for fish, you may get more responses with:

Year/Type of F-Body, engine size, TPI/TBI or Carb'ed (or MPFI V6) etc.

Well heck, now we're getting somwhere

Almost seems like you lost a fusable link, I'm not sure where they would be located on your chassis type...maybe someone else will chime in...

You could start by looking at the wires coming off the starter...fusable link looks kinda like a mini blasting cap.

You could try the V6 forum as well, someone with knowledge of your year/engine type may eb able to assist.

I'll look later in my '89 manual to see where the V6 fusable links are located...may or may not be where you need to look, but might be a start.

A similar thing happened to one of my friend's 1991 V6 3.1 Camaro. Turns out the wire running from the battery to the starter was shorting against the frame SOMEWHERE near the radiator. I shook the wire while he probed the battery. This demonstrated the dead short between the battery + and -, but after I was finished testing for the wire in question, the car worked so he drove off w/o trying to fix it...go figure...

Lets start with a few basics...

It's turning over "normally"? Correct?...not slow and dragging?

You're going to want to pick up a Chiltons manual and start looking for voltage at the coil when the key is on.

Dang, you'd think someone else would jump in here and get ya on the right track, huh? I don't have any V6 experience, so can't say for sure it's like a V8 or not
