Plug wires frying

Hey what are you guys doing to keep your plug wires organized?

Ive fried like 2 of mine already from them touching the header.

I know i can wrap the headers and put sleeves on the wires..but i want a clean look also. Ive seen those clips on some cars where theres small clips on the same bolts that hold down the valve cover..and then your run your wires through them in a nice straight line..

pics would be appreciated if you have an idea

i have the edelrbock street legal headers on my bird, and my plugs dont touch anywhere, i just use a couple of plastic ties on the drivers side wires to hold them away from the headers, and next to something thats not hot. as for the passenger side, my plugs on the cylinders 5 and 7 are both covered with an aluminum coated insulation where they touch the headers. all the wires look clean exept for those 2, but they are next to the firewall, so you cant really tell. i cant see any other way of putting the wires through the headers and not letting them touch.

i put the taylor wires from summit on my t/a that run under the car pre cut type because i kept frying the ac delco wires.

they worked great w/ the stock exh manifolds.. i just put on a set of headman shorty headers and the wires fit even better w/ the headers on the car

I bought 3 sets of the Taylor clamps and ran them so close together that the wires are thier own structure. Has worked well so far. The only part that was difficult was 5 & 7 near the dizzy.
Once I put the headers on I'll probly have to reconfigure the clamps again though.
They are a PITA in that the screws are EXACTLY the length needed to make the connection. I had to strongarm most of them when using my 8.5mm wires to get the screw started with the clump uncompressed just a bit.

For center bolt valve covers, "just Made For You" (or something close to that) will solve your problem. Summit Racing carries this item. I have had them for about 5 years, they work great.

I second the "made for you" for center bolt heads.

Here is a pic of my motor with them.

I liked the way they looked as well as the way they kept my wires from cooking.

Regards

They are from SlP.

http://www.slponline.com/view_produc...04&BIG=20004-1

They have the potential to outflow them but it takes some time and effort to hog them out along with the plenum as the one I have posted here.
This is not mine, as I didnt take pictures of mine when I did this, but this is where I got the idea.

I plan on putting them on my 1919 formie as well
