TPI intake

The same old question. Which way is the best way to go when adding an cold air intake to a 86 tpi with a 383 stroker and bunch of goodies. Should I go for slp's kit for $250, custom make one, just cut the current box up to free up flow to the 2 k&n's I currently have in there, or any other ideas? Also do you any of you know what kind of gains these different methods are making. Thanks for you help.

You don't really gain much, 10hp on a built engine maybe? Making your own is simple, probably $15 of tubing and an hour or two of work.

Ive seen about 6 hp gain with K&Ns over stock, I wouldnt be surprised if he got 15+ out of a correct setup.
