Swapping from TBI to MAF TPI

I've seen a lot of swaps to speed density TPI but what about using MAF? Isn't this method more accurate and real time based than a preset group of tables? The LS1 and later LT1 cars used it and it ran great. With proper dyno tuning wouldn't that be a good alternative for TPI?

probably best if you just search, but here is my 2 cents...

MAF is great if you can't tune, speed density is great if you can.

speed density is hardly a lookup table, there is much more too it and it is also a little faster in response to changes when compared to a maf sensor.

LS1 and LT1's use both, and many people are disabling the MAF and running full time speed density on those pcm's.

I knew that MAF was more forgiving when mods were applied. I was also unaware that LS1s used speed density, though I know that LT1s used SD in 93 but went to MAF in 94. As for the tables that was just a very basic description,I know there's way more to it than that. I've got access to a MAF TPI and was looking at running it that way if it could be improved on like the 4th gen cars can without going to SD.
