IAT Relocation Question

I was thinking of moving the IAT to the intake box like suggested by some people I have talked to. How does this actually work? Do I just remove my current IAT sensor, drill a hole in the intake box, install the sensor, then plug the harness in it? Since the IAT would been then located in the intake box....there would be a hole in the bottom of the intake, does that need to be covered or plugged with something? Just wanting to make sure before I decide to buy it or extend the wires. Thanks

If u read the code and truly understood its function, you would be wise to leave it as it is.

If u wish to delve into the specifics, hit the prom board and search for relocated IAT and you will see what I mean.

If you can do some prom work, I would disagree and say it is worth it. Driving around in the summer in traffic, I saw the IAT hit 115* F. If it is tuned well to work at that temperature, that is fine, but I would rather it be tuned to take the reading of the incoming air than heatsoaking inside the aluminum plenum. That air was not 115* that the engine was recieving.
