I am thinking of buying the car at this link =
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...5000&cardist=8

Currently I have a very nice almost mint 90 Firebird 5.0 TBI, 58,000 Orig Miles, WS6 Package, t-tops paid $6k + tax. Interior perfect body perfect, no rust , neer seen a winter. I want to sell my car and get a cheaper, faster car off the bat. Then beef it up with the extra money.

Any thoughts? I havent looked at the above car yet. Should I keep the car I have now which I think i paid to much for, or buy a nice one thats cheaper and sell mine and beef it up??? ~I attached a pic of my car

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, didnt know where too

in my opinion(and that's all this is) i'd keep the car you already have. you probably did pay a little too much for it, but it has fewer miles and is newer. you would be very lucky to sell that car and get what you paid for it. i wouldn't even pay the almost 5 g's for the car you are thinking about. the 85 will more than llikely end up with more problems than your current car too.

once again this is my opinion. i don't have any actual facts to back this up.

polish those wheels, which is a pain in the A** but it looks great. buy some crome center caps from ebay and you will fall in love with your car all over again.

The 85 isn't worth that kind of money, if you want to beef something up, beef up your Formula, it's a better base to begin with anyway.

Just my opinion.

thats too much for the car, i got mine for a thousand less and its a GTA with a 350 tpi and 68,000 miles on it, also no rust on it and i feel i still paid to much for it. id say put money into yours or keep looking and some time youll find that sweet deal.

Your car is beautiful. There's no way you should part with it. If you have some money to spend and want to go faster, there are plenty of mods you can do to a TBI engine. Knowing what these cars CAN end up looking like, you have a real winner!

Your car is sweet. Do what I did with my GF's 89 RS. We put a 350 TPI in it and it was a VERY simple swap esp with the wiring harness from an 89 Iroc too.

keep yours. If you buy the new one you wont be any farther ahead. It's still only got a 305, it's older, more miles and too much money. I paid 1500$ for my '88 TA WS6, LB9, auto, modded ( all bolt ons ), straight body, new tires, clean interior.

i vote keep your car too. heck for how much they want for the 85 you could do a lt1 and t56 swap into your car!

I have owned both an 89 formula and the 85 I own now so I am little bias. So all I have to say that it is your choice if you sell you Formula and by the T/A or not

I don't know the reason I got the T/A was because my uncle totaled my Formula and I got the T/A for only 700 from a family friend. But for your car you and the condition its in you could probaly get a few grand for it. but again it your choice not ours if you choose sell or keep the car.
