accel base

i just got an accel tpi base, are there special washers for the 4 center bolt holes? i have an 87+ so how did you guys install it?

I too have the Accel base with SLP runners. I just re-used the factory bolts from the original base. If you have not installed yours yet, you really need to upgrade the runners also. Good luck with it.

Where did you guys buy the Accel base, I can't seem to find it except for 1 place and they want 550 bucks for it, and thats crazy!

check ebay and the classifieds on this board. you'll come across them.

for the money i dont think they are worth 450-550 bucks brand new. too much room for porting, doesnt seem to justify buying it new and having to port it. there is alot of room for gain

I ran across mine on e-bay for $300, and it had never been installed. If I had it over again I would have gone with the Holley Stealth Ram. But I did some port work to my Accel base and upper plenum, and smoothed out the inside of the SLP runners. It feels very good on the bottom end, which with the stealth ram I have heard you lose a little on the bottom but it really shines in the upper rpm range.

No.

The beauty of the Accel base is that it will work with late model and early model Gen I small blocks, it has room for porting, and it flows as well or better than any aftermarket TPI base. It is as good an aftermarket TPI base as you can get.
