I just found out today that the car I own isn't an Lb9, but a 350. The 638 casting number on the bottom of the block made my intuition concrete. I don't have a freak 305, I have a 350. Oh happy day!!!
However, I want to know if the whole engine is an L98 or a 350 block with 305 everything else.
What are the casting numbers for 350 manifolds? I did a search but only 2 unrelated things came up.
How can I find out if my injectors are 19# or 22#? There is some purple on them, if that means anything.
And heads, I can remove the driver side valve cover to see the casting number of the heads right? 083 right?
I'm hoping one of the previous owners just swapped in a complete L98. I'll find out tomorrow I guess.
Anyway I am stoked. This saves so much confusion, frustration, and not to mention $$ later on when I realize that 305 performance parts aren't giving me gains. It was awesome to drive to work today knowing I had a 350 under the hood. Not that my car is invincible or anything, but just a great feeling. L98, L98, L98!! I got to change my sig now.
