Sigh 305

Well it turns out I am on a budget now due to looking to buy a new truck, so now I am selling my Iroc which was going to be my project car. So now looks like my side cash is going to go into my 89 formula. Im looking to build up the (yawn 305) I figure Ill go with slp headers, a comp cam kit of some sort, roller rockers, intake, exhaust, and a 100 shot of nitrous. possibly swithcing my gears to a 3.73. What do you guys thing this will do to my car?

I think switching intakes should be priority one if you've already got headers back exhaust. I wouldn't just switch to SLP runners, I'd look for something like a super ram or something that will give you a good base to build on in the future.

3.73's are too steep with the TPI runner setup. If you go with an LT1 or super ram intake or something that gives you some breathing room up top 3.73's are fine...otherwise I think 3.42's are about the most you'd wanna go with a TPI car. I know some will disagree but you get out of the power band so fast with 3.73 and up geared cars.

A cleaned up TPI setup is not too bad of a hinderance on a 305. What is your performance goal? see the sig

I have 3.42's now and I like them, didn't lose any mpg and they are WAY better than the factory 2.73's.

I am planning to go to 3.73's and as long as you have good breathing on your 305, you will be fine.

On my 305, I ported the plenum, 1.6rr's and have headers.
