Will a 160* thermostat help a TPI car?
I ask because my old Iroc would run extremely hot, but I was young didn't know much about cars. My LT1 also ran hotbut I switched to a 160* stat and man waht a difference. Even in our 110* heat this summer it never cracked 210* most of the time it was around 185. Can I expect the same when I get my next 3rd gen?

i have one in mine. since my daily driver crapped out on me ive been driving it lately and with the weather the way it is the, even with a single electric fan, my car barely gets off 100*. but in the summer with really hot weather it helped a little, but not much.

For best ecm operation I would recommend a 180 deg t-stat.
Any less and u have many variables that come in to play from the car never being up to the correct temp.
Even at a 180 stat, u need to change fan on'off temps to make things work better and more efficient.
Stock fan seting are like 215 for fan one and 237 for the second one.
Do a search and find vaders post about it.
There is a reason u want a hotter engine, NASCAR runs at 200 for example.
