Need some measurements...can I even get a 3rd gen in the driveway?

Hey guys I posted this on another board and haven't had a response figured maybe you guys can help...I posted it in TPI because I'm only considering TPI cars but mods if you want this moved to general tech go ahead. PLEASE someone get me an answer

Its close with my 4th gen TA. Can someone take some measurements for me? On a 90Iroc and 91/92 Z28 I'd like to know how high the front spoiler is off the ground at the front tip. How far is it from the front to the start of the wheel well? Same thing for the back end. How far off the ground is it? How far is it from the rear end to the start of the wheel well.

I was thinking this morning when I was leaving work, I can back straight out of my driveway but its close, thirdgens are a bit lower if memory serves me right so I could probably angle it. I need these measurements to compare with my TA. Thanks for the help guys

Get a new drive way layed down with less of a slope or move.

If you check out autotrader.com and click on compare cars you can get the dimensions of most cars. Might help you out a bit.

I dont need dimensions of the vehicles, I just need the height of the front and rear bumpers at the ends of the cars, it'd be nice if someone could get me the distance from the front of the bumper to the start of the wheel well.

Who in their right mind would redo their entire driveway? If I can back my 4th gen straight out with no problems albiet its close, then you'd think a 3rd gen could be angled in maybe go straight in.

Edit: I'm not moving, we just bought the house in July, and I'm not moving till its paid for in 7 or 8 years.

ITs called Sa-Crete.

Comes in bags.

Mix with water.

Bingo, instant less slope in about 12 hrs :-)

Is it really that hard for someone to measure two things for me?

I dont have one or I would :-) Only got me 3 birdies.

But any driveway with that big of a hump needs to go or Sacrete it up to lessen the hit.

It is the curb that is that bad or is the angle of the actual riveway that bad?

Remember they get lower as they age too.

The angle of the driveway actually isn't that bad, my buddy gets his STi in it without a problem. My exhaust is a bit lower than normal on my TA and is about an inch or so from scraping when I back straight up. Teh stock exhaust would have no such problems.

I've got at least 1¼" of ground clearance, which is plenty for me:

On the other hand, I need the 4" high ramps just to get a low profile floor jack under it.

Our cars have a 44" front overhang (from the axle centerline) and are designed to have 4-5/8" ground clearance. Old springs and modifications can change that, however.

This is too funny..
Its no mystery why no one responded to your question before.
If your cars driveway is that darn steep looks like you will be parking it in the street.
Not every single 90 to 92 Camaro Z 28 are going to share the exact same ride height at the front or rear ground effect the air dam in front of the radiator hangs down further.
Different size wheels or tires will change ride height . Have you ever set a brand new tire next to a wore out one the same brand and size.
How are you going to mock up or apply these measurements to your driveway. I might have to air up all 4 of my flat tires on my Z to get your measurements this I have to see !!

Just take some measurements of the approach lenghts and angles of the driveway, and paste them into an imported CAD image of the vehicle.

That would work I dont know why this is so hard or even why I'm getting so much ****, all I want is too measurements, I already said the driveway isn't that steep. If my car were stock it would have no issues at all. It's not stock and thats why I only have about an inch worth of clearance.

15 inches of clearance would be EASY to get in the driveway. 1 1/4 you mean 1 and one quarter feet? that seems a bit on the high side.

I dont really think I'd have a problem getting one into or out of the driveway, I just was trying to make sure. I probably wont find a car locally since I live in a small town, I'd just had to drive to OKC or DFW get a car and then find out I can't get it in the driveway. Like I said my buddies STi has no issues at all and that thing is pretty damn low, just better safe then sorry when I bring home a car and scrape the **** ouf of the front spoiler

No. Like it says, 1¼ inches to the air dam/chin spoiler. I've got the same on the side air skirts.

well my 89 roc has a prokit on it, but the rear is about stock height. the front is lowered about 1.5inches
mine is currently being stored in my garage and the rear floor is slightly sloped but i took a level to get an idea of even ground. so my measurements for the rear should be close

Its close with my 4th gen TA. Can someone take some measurements for me? On a 90Iroc and 91/92 Z28 I'd like to know how high the front spoiler is off the ground at the front tip. ground to chin spoiler is 6inches off the ground
ground to airdam deflector is 2.75 inches

front of chin spoiler to wheel well is about 24 inches.
just in front of the front tire to the ground is about 6 inches as well.

just behind rear tire to ground is 6 inches for my car
rear bumber to just behind rear tire wheel well is about 26inches

i got flowmaster exhaust and the tips are about 11 inches off the ground. the bumper is another 5 inches up so a total of 16 inch off the ground.
hope that helps

Awesome, that fixes me up quite nicely. I'll double check my stuff tomorrow but I think I will have plenty of clearance

Our driveway has a steep angle to it, one of my TA's is pretty low with a pro kit with 1/2 coil cut off the front. I just use two wooden planks laid paralell to the road to lessen the hit.
