If you just replaced the ignition coil did everything get plugged back into its rightful place. The modulator in the dizzy could have taken a dump. I would pull a spark plug and check for spark, put a noid light on the injector plugs and check the engine bay for any unwanted guests that might have taken up residency.

One other thing I forgot to mention, spray some ether into the throttle body and see if it wakes up. If it runs but then dies its not getting any fuel.

It cranks and does nothing correct?

Security lite on or off while this occurs?

Did starting fluid make it to anything? spit sputter cough? If it did you may be looking at a VATS issue or a dead fuel pump.

We need some more input to help you out here.

Let us know if u have fuel pressure.

Check spark.

Get a noid lite and see if the injectors are pulsing.

later

The fuel pump comes on when i turn the ignition to on. When i first tried the starting fluid it sputtered but now it has no affect on it. It will just keep cranking as if there is no fuel going through but, i can hear the fuel pump go on so im assuming the pump is good???

Pickup Coil?

I just went through a very similar situation, but mine was a combo of problems. The main one was that the pickup coil in the distributor was corroded to DEATH. Replacing it involves taking out the distributor and tapping out some pins, but it's like a 13 dollar part and it will fail on you, my friend had one fail on him not even 2 months before mine did. Also check the voltage to your coil, and make sure your SES light is coming on and blinking twice. The SES light tells you that your ECM is alive.

if the pickup coil of the distributor is corroded, does this mean there will be no sparK ?? i know this sounds like a stupid question, but i am in the same situation, so i want to know !

Pickup coil failure can cause, a no spark, a dead miss in one or more cylinders or random misfires.

No spark at all means its somewhere in the ignition system.

Test for B+ to the distrib and also do a search here or grab a manual on how to test the coil, pickup, and module.

If the starting fluid wont start the car then there is no or very weak spark. If you just changed the coil did you change the wires along with it. Before tearing the dizzy apart put the noid light on the injectors. If its blinking then the pick-up should be okay. I would make sure the coil is mounted correctly it might not be grounded.

if the pickup coil is messed, does the car still crank ? i havent changed the cap and rotor yet. dam this car, it cranks but just wont start !! i checked the fuel from the fuel lines in the engine, and it comes, but maybe its not enough pressure
before all this happened though, it took about 5-6 cranks for it to start, what can that be a sign of ?? i think i already asked this question, i am not sure !!

It'll crank just fine, won't get spark. Pull a plug wire, put a plug on the wire and hold it against the block now crank it and see if you get spark that'll tell you where your problem's at.

Use a timing light to check for spark.
Check to make sure power is getting to the dist/coil, etc.
I hate it when this happens, but, have it towed to a shop. Starting fluid is really not good at this point.
Compression + fuel + oxygen + spark = power, I think you have eliminated (or have) all, except spark. Somethimes it costs less to have a pro do it. (That's easy for me to say sitting on my butt here.) Goos luck,
Steve

If you get a spark then have someone tap your fuel injectors while cranking. Your injectors maybe stuck closed. It happened to me when the car sat for a while.

Hi, just wondering, regarding to the fuel injectors, the car was sitting for a while, but, i did get it to run for a couple of weeks. although it took like 4-5 cranks to start i will still check the injectors
