runner question

i am looking into new runners for my 305 TPI. but i was wondering if they are going to flow any better than what i have.

the ones i'm lookin' at are the corvette L98 runners, and i have an LB9

any increase in flow expected?

nope as far as i know all TPI intakes be it 305 or 350 flowed the same. Some older TPI's had the ninth injector intergrated in the runner.

They will give you a few ponies just bolted on, to see a decent gain, youll need to port you plenum. The runners are really ment for 350 car, but it should bump up the power band on you 305, not neccessarily more power, but it should allow it to rev 200~rpm higher, which every tpi needs.

btw, don't i see you on iroczone.com?

You're a moron. Stock runners are stock - 305 or 350, they were the same on both engines.

305 arent starved for air like 350s are. Thats why the runners came out, they were intended for bigger cubed engines.

i'll probably hold off until summer so i just buy some already-ported SLP plenums to go with it

Why what runners came out? He asked if the L98 runners are different than LB9 runners - they are not!!! L98 and LB9 runners are the same, period! The whole intake (minus injectors) is the same year for year, the plenum, runners, baseplate and throttle body. The only diference was the 'Vette baseplate with ext. egr.

In no post, other than the very last, did he mention a non-factory runner. He said he was looking for runners, but the L98 runners. You went on to state that he would see gains. Maybe you misunderstood which runners he was asking about when he asked "the ones i'm lookin' at are the corvette L98 runners, and i have an LB9 any increase in flow expected?"

GOY is 100% correct. Same size runners regardless of 305 or 350.
