Are these crap or am I better off getting the holley version?

I cant tell how this one works, it appears that the adjustment is done by a screw and locking nut. What is the round piece? (the gasket)

Anyway, I have a Holley and adjusting the fuel pressure is very easy, a simple turn of a large wheel on top of the AFPR,,, and this wheel is serated.

 

the round peice is what sets between the spring and the adjuster screw. By tightening the screw, you push on the spring, there fore increasing fuel pressure. - Yes it appears that you would adjust the screw, then lock it w/ the nut. - looks to be a decent unit. Not at all different than my TPIS unit...hummm.. good thing I didn't have to pay for mine....I have great friends...

 

Hey i know i didnt start this topic but i do have a question..... is AFPR good to put on a STOCK tpi? if so what would be a good psi to set it at??

 

i have one on mine and no it doesnt hurt to have an aftermarket one, and there is really no set pressure to set it at, put it on a dyno, adjust it and go, repeat as needed until you find out which one works the best.

 

As I understand it 48PSI is a decent pressure.

 

48psi with the vaccum off is a decent setting, anything over tends to foul plugs. Make sure you set it with the vaccum from the modulator off the unit. Turning up your fuel pressure will make a VERY noticable difference in your cars midrange power most of the time.

What do you mean by setting it with the vacuum off? How is this done?

 

You pull the vacum line off the regulator, then set the pressure, then reconnect the line. This line goes from the regulator to the plenum.

 

dude if you are trying to save 30 bucks dont. I have first hand experience with throwing that e-bay part in the garbage.

 

I ended up getting the holley one. I did save $30 if you look at the second link I posted. In fact its already installed. The thing was brand new and never installed either.

 

how did it work? make any noticable differences? im looking to get one installed on my car, but my car is stock, so im not sure if it will make any noticable gains. let me know! thanks!

 

there is a tech info on this web site about the gains in a stock motor something to do with better fuel atommization.
