Cheap ignition coil failure?

My car wasn't getting any spark, so I replaced the ignition coil. I went to Advance Auto and they offered the Sorenson coil which was 17 bucks and the AC Delco coil, which was 50 dollars. I wanted to get the AC Delco one, but they didnt have it at the time, so I went with the cheap one. The problem with the car was instantly fixed and I drove it around just fine for two days, and now it broke down on me again, and is doing the same thing. Has anybody else had problems using the cheap aftermarket coil? I guess I will go back and try and get the AC delco and see if that fixes it.

Yes i burnt up a Napa module in a few days. I went with a Holley Annihlator module and coil and so far the problem is fixed.

Bad module can kill coil and bad coil can kill module depending on how they let go.

Nother thing to check for intermittnet no start issues that are ignition related is your friend the pick up coil in the distrib.

These are also good for dying with heat or seen some do cold and then pull in garage and heat up and work fine.

9/10 usually show heat related symptoms.

Well I was able to get the car started again, but it would die intermittently. I put a different brand coil on there, and it has seemed to fix the problem so far. I think it was a Wells coil - Advance Auto said they couldnt get an AC Delco. If it dies again I guess I'll have to look somewhere else for the problem.
