Aftermarket TPI computer and parts?
I am thinking of going with a TPI setup for my 406. I am an Old school guy, alway ran carbs. Is there an aftermarket stand alone computer system for the TPIs? also how do you figure injector sizes and tuning the system? My 406 is 11.7 to 1 comp, comp cam solid 248 dur .525 lift Heads I dont know yet. was going to get some 220 intake aluminums but might try some vortecs.

Which intake do you plan to use? Hope it's not a STOCK TPI.
That thing needs some air to achieve its potential. That's a big stick in there, and big cubes. Should go with a modified Holley Stealth Ram, Miniram, or FIRST system. And use 200+ CC heads, like AFR 210's or the likes. 195s will work well on the street, but if you're drag racing it mainly, let it breath.
You'll probably need about 36 lb/hr injectors. Easy to find, and should support over 500hp. 42's if you get some really decent heads.
A stock '730 TPI computer can run this engine if you do your own PROM calibrating (all summed up, maybe $500 in ECU, wire harness, and PROM editing equipment). But, if you want to go aftermarket, there' many companies available. Cheapest one that works ok-ish is the Holley Commander 950. FAST makes a good one, Accel Gen VII is a good one, several other ones available as well (from $1000-2500).
You'll want a wideband O2 meter as well. Innovate Motorsports sells the LM1 for pretty cheap. Others available as well.
It will all add up to some big $$$$. If you do it right, you'll only have to spend it once, and will have a reliable combo. It's a fun thing to learn, and once you get the hang of it, you'll forget what a jet or metering rod or whatever those things things are called, hehe (I'm an EFI engineer, go figure).

I was affraid of the response. I figured it would be a ton of money. Thanks for schooling me a little on it. The car is mainly on the street but will be at the track also, so i think i will stick with the carb for now.

Edelbrock has one, right?
F.A.S.T. has one too.
All of these and I'm sure there are more, will work with TPI or any other multi-port fuel injection setup.
