another setting minimum air question..

Well i followed the procedure and when i went to unplug the connector to the IAC i noticed it was making quite some noise. Its really loud and whinny and even after waiting 5 mins it continued to make the noise...is this normal? I assumed that after 30 seconds when it reaches closed position...that it would stop making the noise...

The ECM will continue to send the phased pulses to the IAC motor as long as the ignition is on and the ALDL is jumpered. The reason to wait 20 seconds is to make sure the IAC motor has stepped fully closed. In reality, a new (or cleaned and lubricated) IAC should close in just a few seconds.

Your observation is completely normal.
