Cold Air Induction
Ok, Ive decided to custom make my own CAI unit. Im gonna have an open element conical K&N filter. Im gonna wrap a heat shield around it and use aluminum tubing, similar to the attached link.I know there has been some debate surrounding the use of open element on our cars, anyone think this is a good idea or bad idea. Here is teh link. What are the negatives to using open element?

so its proly a go, I'll just wash it with that K&N air filter cleaner once in a while. I'm still gonna wait for some more input though, especially vaders input/thoughts on this.
