Looking for stock L98/LT1 intake dyno numbers

I did a search and only found one thread, and they changed the cam at the same time.

I was wondering what kind of gains to expect by swapping to an LT1 intake on a stock L98.

My Corvette made 251/341 RWHP/RWTQ with longtube headers, !cats, !EGR, cat-back, TPIS air lid, and air foil.

Anyone care to hazard a guess at what it would do with an LT1 intake? I burn my own chips, but I also live in the same town as Alvin from PCMforless, so I might be hitting him up for a dyno tune post swap.

Its not a bolt on application. I think people have modified them before but there are many differences between them, like bolt angles, and the fact that coolant does not run through the LT1 intake.

But maybe some people who have done it can help you out more.

You can get a modified LT1 intake, ready to bolt on your L98 from www.lt1intake.com for a very resonable price. Especially when compared to the cost of a Mini-ram.

I'm broke as hell, and I've noticed lots of hotrodder's are like me and don't have tons of cash to throw around. I figured any type of budget minded intake set-up would be wildy popular, but maybe I was wrong.

For less than $500, is there even another option? A stealth ram won't clear my stock hood, so it's not an option.

I bet 10-15 peak hp, but like 30 or so extra under the curve.

You are not wrong, it is popular to swap to a converted LT1 intake manifold on a SBC. There are hundreds out there. Sure, it's not as many as the big manufactures because each one is converted by hand.

You do not find dyno results for several reasons. First, it is low budget by people with no money for dyno time anyway. People with lots of money to burn buy the $1000+ miniram and dyno it to show off some. LT1 intake customers are just pure hot rodders. Taking and existing product and modifing it for better performance on their engine is the SPIRIT of hot rodding. That's how it got started. There were no big manufactures way back then.

Second, you will not find a totally stock SBC engine with a converted LT1 intake and no other mods. At the very least the owner will throw a cam in there while the intakes off. No better time to do the bumpstick right?

When I owned LT1 intake I offered a FREE converted LT1 intake for a customer that would do before and after dynos on a totally stock 350 SBC. I only got a few replys and no one came through.
