Older heads, newer intake manifold, Modifcations??
Ok, so I have a few threads open but here goes another. I purchased world products heads BUT they are for '87 and older. I have a speed density setup that I want to run. Does anyone have info or PICS on the bolt hole modification? I've heard that they don't quite match due to different angles. Thanks-

you can get an Edelbrock TPI intake base. PN#3860. Has a duel bolt pattern for center bolt and after market heads. It will work on all non vortec heads. If you were planning on modifying the stock base,I wouldn't bother it's very restrictive.

Got you a pic
Its not hard to open them up.
It only needs a little bit of an oval to make them work. Doing an angled oval is the best way to do it without removing a ton of material. The bolts almost start but are at a slight angle to the heads. (72 degrees Vs 90 IIRC)
I used a "roto-zip" tool bit in my dremel, cut it very quickly and smooth.
Might want to do some flattening of the top of the manifold so the bolt heads sit flatter when your done. The both heads will sit tilted and won't have the full contact beneath them.
I only did a small amount and never had a problem with them.
