TPI Swap
Well since the search is down, i guess il just post the question. im About to do a TPI swap on my 84'. I would like to know all the things i would have to do. That car origionally had a 305 CCC. Im looking to buy a new harness, which would connect to the IP harness inside the car for power, SES, etc. Any suggestions on what to do! Your help is greatly appreciated!

WOW , it's a pretty big question. You need to use the search when it's back up and running. I also recomend getting a book called the "TPI swappers guide"

tpi swappers guide doesnt really show you a lot, do searches here, you need to do all the wiring, the input harness is basically power for the ecm/injectors/vss ect, also do a good job on the fuel system, intank fuel pump and high pressure lines from gas tank to tuned port fuel rail, i did this swap over the winter. i originally had a ccc carb.

also get ahold of the guys at painless wiring and ask them exactly what you'll need, and the swappers guide is highly recommended. good luck

There are a few companies making after-market harnesses.
I used Bill Howell's harness. It was for a stand-alone setup, but he used to, and probably still does, alter factory harnesses from OE computer cars. Mine was for a '78, with no computer at all, very easy to install. He was one of the guys that developed it for GM, then he went into business for himself after he retired. He was about the first guy offering transplant harnesses.

Google search Bill Howell TPI.
