checking injectors

Can anyone tell me how to check injectors. I think mine are either leaking by or the regulator may be bad. I have an 87 TA 305 TPI.
The fuel pump went last summer so ti has a new AC-DELCO pump & filter is new. I am having trouble starting it. When I start sometimes I have to use the flood mode (holding pedal to floor) or it will crank for a long time. A couple of times I have seen white smoke come from the air filter box when it starts.
I could also use a injector reccomendation if I need to replace them.

I was going to link you to a site, but it said I had too many picture links in it. Check out autozone's site. They have a detailed instructions on how to check them.

Stand them up along the boards on little, tiny doll skates (Barbie skates work great for this). Line them up, skate around casually, and take them hard into the boards, leading with the hip and shoulder equally, leaning off your front foot just as you make contact. Make sure you keep the stick down, and don't take more than three strides or you'll be called for boarding.

That works for injectors, figure skaters, referees (don't ask), and about anyone else on the ice.

But seriously, you need a fuel pressure gauge to test for injector or FPR leakage.

If you determine the injectors are leaking, check www.cruzinperformance.com before you decide to order new replacements. You should have RP/Bosch injectors in your '87, so they are worth the trouble to repair them.
