Can someone PLEASE id this evap hose?

I was just checking out hoses and the air filter while trying to fix my foglight problem and found this hose just open on a "T" right off from the evap canister. It is one of the big hoses. I'll try to attach a pic. Can anybody look at theirs and tell me where the hoses lead to? I think mine is completely missing. In the pic you can see where one side of the t connects to the canister. The long line connected runs into the nose and seems to run across the front end. I am going to trace that hose now to see where it ends. The other open end on the short hose was just open with nothing around to connect to. Does anyone know where it's supposed to go and what path it takes to get there? Also, what is the function of this praticular connection? It says "air" by the nozzle on the canister.

I tracked down the end of the long hose you can't see in picture. It just went to the inner fender and was also open. Does the spot for "air" on the cannister just mean vented to outside air or is it supposed to connect to something? This is a used car and i have no idea what has been done to it before me. This double ended go nowhere hose doesn't seem right but i guess it's possible. Can someone with a TPI please look at theirs (if it's stock) and tell me if their line from the canister air spot also goes nowhere?

The air port on the canister is just that: air. You don't need to plug it, I have seen this with a factory cap on it that leaves it open. Must be just a vent.

Well, on mine (which is stock) it goes to a solenoid valve and continues eventually to the gas tank. The EVAP canister just re-circulates the fumes in the gas tank and at times while in closed loop the ECM will open the valve and re-burn those fumes. Just another one of GM's attempts at attaining good gas mileage.

On an 89 like mine. You have one line going to the throttle body, another going to the valve then to the hardline on the frame and the other one just left open inside the fender. The 89's do not have a port that has a cap like some other models, well on a firebird at least.

Some people just remove it all and use a vented gas cap.
