TPI is a type of MPFI, they are not different things you can "compare". MPFI = multiport fuel injection. TPI is this. TBI is not MPFI, for example.

TPI = tuned port injection, one injector per cylinder, TBI does not have this

MPFI is NOT TPI by true deffinition.
Multi Point sytems actually fire each injector individually, in time with the cylinder. TPI systems are "batch fire" - all injectors fire at the same time.
If you want true MPFI, you have to run either am aftermarket set-up or the Cadillac ecu. The LT1 ecu is also "sequential"(MPFI) but only up to like 3000rpm.
- All of this has been discussed several times....thats how I learned....

How I read it . TPI IS MPFI ....it's just not SFI ( sequencial fuel injection) <--- whic fires it at a different port at different times . Where TPI is a batch fire multiport setup ...just not sequential.

Yeah, multiport is what is says, multiple ports, ie 1 injector per cylinder. I will still say TPI is multiport. Sequential multiport is a different type of multiport than batch fire multiport.

TPI is a MPFI system.

LT1 is a SFI system.

And the LT1 ecu goes into batch fire ONLY at full throttle; it operates the injectors sequentially at all part throttle positions for driveability and emissions.
