IAC Control valve help.

IAC Control valve help.

Hi all, I have a 5L TPI engine with a Holley Stealth Ram.

The last guy did a bit of a rough job in finishing it all off nicely, so I have been slowly working my way through all the bits and pieces cheeking and replacing I what I find not right. To add I'm fairly new to the EFI world so its been a bit of a self taught ride.

What I have found is on the IAC valve the last owner has cut off the water inlet pipe, leaving it open to sounding air. I'm just wondering what effect this could have on the running of the engine and if I should look at getting water back up to it or not or what I should do.

Thanks heaps for any help.

Francis.

By the sound of it, your talking about the throttle body heating. I wouldn't be to concerned. It won't effect the engine at all. And unless your living in Tazzy you won't need it.

By the way, which part of Oz are you in??

Are the good old GC, I went to Nerang High many years ago.....Another site you might like close to home is www.camaro-firebird.org Its Oz based and you will get good Oz specific info there as well.

But you can't beat here for tech stuff though.
